Jones Spool Treadle sewing machine restored to working order. I cleaned, stripped and sanded the old varnish and oil off and re-varnished with Watco Danish Oil dark walnut. I did not polyurethane it, leaving that up to the new owner. The cabinet is in pretty darn good shape for 100 plus years. Some veneer is missing off one side that I left alone. No plant water stains! There is a scratch on the underside of top lid, that I sanded but did not fill. My hubby made some knobs for it as it did not have any, we cut a vintage wooden spool in half and used that. I left it raw not stained. The machine itself has lot of loved use on it and some of the decals are gone and some of the luster as well. She sews like a Queen, with a perfect stitch. She was made late 1800's to early 1900's. Her tracking record has been lost, her number is 184221. She is English made in Manchester. Brother eventually purchased the Jones company in 1958. She uses a round shank needle 128x1. See photos of the before, during and after, and a video of her sewing.
